Adventure Time Reviews: One Last Job

Hello everyone. I know it’s been a long time, but I’m back to reviewing shows. Up first, like last time, is Adventure Time. Specifically, it is the most recent episode “One Last Job”.

So what’s the plot? Jake’s daughter Jake Jr. is kidnapped, so Jake is forced to join up with his old gang, which was briefly hinted at in “Apple Thief”. There are several reasons I like this episode. First, all of these characters in Jake’s gang were mentioned in “My Two Favorite People”, an episode that came out over 100 episodes ago. I love throwbacks like that and season 5 really seems to be doing this. I also liked the multiple twists during the episode. It really kept me on my toes! It is also good to see Jake’s kid again, but it kind of makes me want to see his other ones. Oh well. Bottom line, it was good, but not great. Next week is Another Five Short Graybles, which should be interesting.

Adventure Time: Beyond This Earthly Realm Review

Time to review another episode of Adventure Time. The title is “Beyond This Earthly Realm”. I also have a mini-announcement, but we’ll get to that later.

Surprisingly, Cartoon Network has managed to deliver two episodes in one week that I was quite indifferent about. The promos certainly didn’t reveal anything about the episode, other than the Ice King saying “turbo” a lot. The plot wasn’t entirely original, but that was not a big problem in this episode. Nothing really stood out to me, other than the decent visual effects of the Ice King’s visions. The “Spirit World” concept of this episode is starting to remind me of Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s similar concept. Thankfully, the Ice King got what he deserved in the end for tricking Finn. Overall, an average episode, certainly not the worst of the season (Web Weirdos). Hopefully Cartoon Network’s new episodes tomorrow will be more exciting.

Now to the announcement. I have decided to rate episodes on a scale from 1 to 10, starting with this one. Combined, I give this a 6/10.

Oh, and before I go, Happy Father’s Day!
